Electronics Engineering Apprenticeships
Electronics Engineering Apprenticeships are the ideal qualifications to train an Apprentice to work as an Electrical and Electronic Engineer, Engineering Maintenance Technician, Engineering Operative, Marine Engineer or Marine Engineering Technician.
ATG Training will work closely with you to plan, design and structure the Electronics Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship programme to meet your company needs. We will also monitor and report on the progress of your Apprentice(s) and provide on-going support.
Electronics Engineer Apprenticeship
Electronics Engineering Advanced Apprenticeships consist of a period of structured off-the-job Foundation Training, Key Skills training and a training programme to work towards a Technical Certificate and Level 3 NVQ.
The Foundation Training for the Electronics Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship results in a Level 2 NVQ in Performing Engineering Operations. This provides candidates with skills in:
- Working safely in an engineering environment
- Working efficiently and effectively in engineering
- Using and communicating technical information
- Assembling and testing electronic circuits
- Maintaining electronic equipment/systems
- Producing electrical or electronic engineering drawings using a CAD
Key Skills training will provide the Apprentice with further development in everyday work-related skills. To complete the Electronics Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship, candidates will be required to complete the following Level 2 Key Skills:
- Application of Number
- Information Technology
- Improving Own Learning and Performance
- Working with Others
A Level 3 NVQ in Electronics will be structured and agreed following the completion of the Foundation Training. The Electronics NVQ comprises mandatory and optional units and ATG Training will work with you and your Apprentice to tailor the training to your needs.
Technical Certificates are undertaken on a day release basis and there are a variety of courses available. We will work with you and your Apprentice to select the most appropriate course to meet the skills need of your business. The most common courses are BTEC National certificates or City & Guilds certificates.
Understanding the employer contribution
16-18 year olds
Full Government funding is available for training 16-18 year old apprentices
19 year olds and over
Funding is available for people over the age of 19, but is dependent on their existing qualifications and the courses and qualifications applied for. An employer contribution maybe required.
ATG Training recognises the need to assist business in their recruitment and training of apprentices, so we offer a flexible range of payment plans to manage the cost of the employer contribution. To ensure our business partners are able to recruit at 19+ Advanced Apprentices level, the cost of the training may be spread over six months (subject to approval).
